Norwegian National Elections

The Norwegian National Elections was yesterday. The 14th of September. When I woke up at 2am, it was not a shock that the socialist parties would stay to govern the nation for another four years. The liberal parties did not make any effort in providing the voters a concrete working alliance which probably made some voters shy away from them. Well... this means more road tolls and taxes would probably be the same if not heavier, hospitals will probably be the same.

Some people may not agree with my point of view but until a person has experienced how to get sick, how to lose a job, all the bureaucracy, one will never understand why I wanted change.

Although I am utterly disappointed that we would still have the same people in the government for the next four years, I am pleased that there are three additional Høyre representative in the parliament.

I just hope that the oppositions learned their lessons. They have 4 years to prepare.

I am a liberal probably born one. I will stay this way.

Bodø

The ferry boat trip took 4 hours and approximately 1100 kroner in fare (3 adults, 1 child and a car). There was no entertainment onboard but passengers can buy food.

Approaching Bodø was magical. You can see the wild mountains on the horizon but not very clear. And it goes clearer and clearer by the meter. Extraordinary!

View from our room .

Radisson SAS in Bodø. Friendly staff and very very good breakfast buffet as usual. We got a smaller room this time. I think the hotel was full.

Ferry to Bodø

We took a ferry boat from Moskenes to Bodø. Although we have reserved places on the 21:00 ferry boat, we were in Moskenes quite early to be able to eat dinner and go around Moskenes and Å. This is the second time I have ever been to a place called Å. Some years ago, we were at the West Coast and found a place called Å. FYI, it is also the last letter of the Norwegian alphabet.

Å is the last stop in Lofoten Islands. I must say that Lofoten is one of the most fantastic places I have ever been to.

On the Way to Moskenes

Amazing sandy white beach in Lofoten. The water though is probably less than 10 degrees. Brrrrrr!
